Chicago is more than just the birthplace of the skyscraper -- it’s also where most innovations in skyscraper design originated. On this tour, take a step back in time to the late 1800s to hear stories behind the city’s early world-famous buildings, as well as get an illustrated look at how Chicago grew from a city devastated by a great fire to a leader in skyscraper engineering and design. Some of the buildings that may be highlighted on the tour include: The Art Institute of Chicago, Marquette building, the Rookery, Chicago Board of Trade, Monadnock building, Auditorium building and Railway Exchange building.
